Disquiet International Literacy Program

The Disquiet international literacy program is accepting submissions for their 2020 international fellowship in Lisbon, Portugal. There are four fellowships available and two scholarships. Hurry–the submission deadline is January 3, 2020!

On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous

The January BWA Boulder Book Club for Writers selection is Ocean Vuong’s 2019 novel: On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous.

Every month we dissect a novel written within the past 18 months with the purpose of understanding how the author did what they did, so that we can learn new techniques to apply to our own writing. Slides from past novels are here.

Spring 2020 Nonfiction Writers Conference

Since 2010, the Nonfiction Writers Conference events have been conducted entirely online—via webcast and phone—so no travel is required! The Spring 2020 event is their 10th Anniversary conference and runs May 6 through 8. Keynote speakers are TBD; past speakers have included Seth Godin, Julia Cameron, Gretchen Rubin, Cheryl Richardson, and Guy Kawasaki.
Currently at BWA – Creative Writer’s Critique Group

If you love the series, Stranger Things, you will enjoy 30th Street Fiction’s PROOF Anthology, where family secrets haunt the living, the dead walk, the human sacrifice might be you, and the proof is in the details.

BWA’s Caitlin Berve is not only that anthology’s editor, but every month she shares her writing and editing expertise with BWA members, leading BWA’s Creative Writer’s Critique Group Meetup. Join Caitlin at the Boulder Public Library for her critique group, but please RSVP in advance on our meetup site, as space is limited.

Opportunities in Education, Networking, and Marketing

BWA provides educational programs, social and other events, and e-mail lists for both members and non-members.

We also offer members marketing opportunities through a listing in our Find A Writer database, through exclusive job postings, and our private members-only e-mail list. Join BWA to take advantage of these membership benefits.
