Join, Renew, or Update Your BWA Membership	Search BWA Web Pages

Thinking about joining BWA or renewing? For more information, read about the current membership benefits.

Boulder Writers Alliance maintains its membership records in a online database that can be searched separately from the Web pages on this site. All members need to create their own records for this database. Keeping your database information current is vital, since employers use it to find members by professional specialty, software experience, name, and geographical location. The search results they see include your name, summary statement, and contact information.

How to Join BWA

Follow these steps to join the Boulder Writers Alliance:

1. Read the BWA Privacy Policy. When you join BWA, you provide us with information about yourself. The BWA Privacy Policy tells you what BWA will and will not do with that information.
2. Click the Join Now link below, enter information into the online membership form that is displayed, print a copy of it, and submit the form electronically (by clicking Submit Form).
3. Make your online payment with a credit card by clicking the PayPal button, which appears after you submit the form.

Notes on Dues:

• We encourage payment through PayPal. However, if you choose not to pay online, you can pay the treasurer in person at a BWA meeting, and your membership will be activated once payment is received. After you submit your membership form, just send an e-mail to treasurer @ bwa.org to make such an arrangement.
• Standard dues are $50/year (for new and nonvolunteering members).
• Dues are $25/year if you were a volunteering member last year. Volunteer positions range from bringing food to meetings to chairing a BWA committee. Indicate your interest by filling out the Volunteer Interests field on the membership form. For more information, contact the Volunteer Coordinator (volunteers @ bwa.org). You must volunteer this year to be eligible for the reduced rate of $25 next year.
• Student volunteer membership dues are $15/year.
• Dues are not prorated for partial year membership; however, if you join after September 1, your dues are applied to the following year's dues (i.e., you get the last 4 months free).

How to Update Information

Follow these steps to update your member information in the BWA database:

1. Click the Update Now link below and log in to the membership database.
2. When your information is displayed, enter your changes and submit them (by clicking Submit Form).
3. If you are changing your e-mail address, be sure to also change it in the Yahoo!Groups database that BWA uses for its electronic mailing list. (You must be registered with Yahoo!Groups to change your e-mail address.)

How to Renew Membership

The membership renewal period is annually from September 1 - January 1. Follow these steps to renew your BWA membership:

1. Click the Renew Now link below and log in to the membership database.
2. When your information is displayed, enter any needed changes to the information, print a copy, and submit the form electronically (by clicking Submit Form).
3. If you change your e-mail address, be sure to also change it in the Yahoo!Groups database that BWA uses for its electronic mailing list.
4. Make your online payment with a credit card by clicking the PayPal button, which appears after you submit the form.

If you encounter a problem while using the database, please send all relevant information about the problem to techsupport @ bwa.org. Please put "BWA Database Problem" in the subject line of the message. A volunteer BWA member will answer you as soon as possible--please be patient.
