How does the Showcase work?

During the Showcase, individual exhibitors display samples of their work and discuss it with potential clients and employers. Corporate sponsors have their own exhibit area for display booths. Guests visit the exhibit hall to meet and talk with all participants. There will be a keynote speaker and a variety of shorter presentations. Extras include door prizes, a great buffet, and a cash bar.

What is exhibited?

Exhibitors display anything that represents their work. The smaller exhibit space is about 30" x 36", with two individual exhibitors sharing a 30" x 72" table. The larger exhibit space is about 18" x 72", with one exhibitor per table. You can cover your tabletop space from edge to edge, or show a few representative pieces. It's up to you. We can accommodate both electronic and print displays.

BWA is a diverse group of communicators and the Showcase is intended for all. We expect to have exhibitors who specialize in marketing communications, magazine writing, technical writing (including print and online), Web design, user interface design, business communications, editing, and graphic design.

What does it cost to be an individual exhibitor?

In contrast to nearly all tradeshow fees, Showcase fees are inexpensive. For BWA members, registration is $20 for smaller, shared exhibit space, and $30 for larger, private exhibit space. For non-BWA members, registration is $35 for smaller, shared exhibit space, and $50 for larger, private exhibit space. BWA members only can register before August 31, but you can join BWA now and then register for the Showcase as a member. If space remains after August 31, non-members may register.

Will the Showcase guarantee me a job or contract?

The Showcase provides the opportunity. It's up to you to make something of it. In past, many exhibitors have found jobs and collected promising leads from the Showcase.

What are the plans for publicity?

Who exhibited last year?

Exhibitors typically include technical and marketing writers, graphic artists, multimedia and training experts, web site developers, and more. Here's a list of last year's exhibitors and photos from from last year’s Showcase:
