| Job Description | Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson’s (www.davisphinneyfoundation.org) The Davis Phinney Foundation seeks an experienced professional to support our organization as a grant writer (PT, 8-10 hours) on a contract basis. The Contract Grant Writer will identify funding sources to support existing and planned program activities and write and track grant proposals to third-party entities. The Davis Phinney Foundation is a small, vibrant, 501(c)3 based in Boulder, Colorado that works within the Parkinson’s community to educate, inspire and support research into ways to live well with Parkinson’s Disease today. Since our inception in 2003, the DPF has evolved into a nationally recognized foundation. The DPF is a positive organization, with a focused message about living well with PD today. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: •Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of all grants acquired by the Foundation •Work with staff to determine timelines for funding needs, previous and potential sources of support, specific program budgets, and opportunities for sponsorship and/or recognition •Identify Foundation work or initiatives suitable for grant funding •Identify potential funding sources; research grant databases and report options and benefits •Prepare and submit proposals and grant applications as agreed to by the Director of Operations and/or Executive Director; ensure overall quality and accuracy of all grant applications •Act as point of contact within the Foundation for all grant-related inquiries or needs, including responding to requests for additional information, speaking with potential or existing funding sources regarding grant proposals, and providing appropriate reporting or updates to funders •Maintain up-to date summary reports detailing grants submitted, grants approved, required activities and reporting requirements and deadlines; ensure that appropriate data is being collected to support reporting requirements •Track all grants and submitted proposals to ensure appropriate follow-up, including thank you notes, updates, final reports and other deadlines •Record and maintain all relevant information about prospective and active funders; work with Foundation staff to track this appropriately through the Foundation database •Report to Director of Operations or other designated staff member on work and activities on a regular basis; provide other written or oral reports on activities and efforts as needed •Attend staff meetings as requested The Foundation will provide the contractor with the following: •A Foundation email address •Contact person within the Foundation to assist with collating and submitting grant proposals, answer questions or access documents, and keep contractor updated on mail received regarding submitted proposals •Regular meetings with the Director of Operations and/or Executive Director, in person or by phone to share information about current activities, priorities, contacts, new initiatives, and any other information relevant to grant efforts Reporting: the Contract Grant Writer will report to the Director of Operations Compensation will be the hourly at a rate commensurate with experience.
