Boulder Writers Alliance News
Amp up your social media! Do you feel clueless about the “who, why, and how” of social media? Do you wonder what’s meant by “engaging” and why it matters? If so, attend BWA’s May 13, 2017 program, which features Rick Killian, Tricia Fitzpatrick, and Valerie Webster, who will cover social media strategies, targeting, and engagement. For complete details or registration, visit: https://bwamay2017.eventbrite.com.
Our February 4, 2017 educational program helped a packed house get up to speed on podcasting, a popular form of new media publishing. A program outline and podcasting cheatsheet are available for download on our Meeting Notes page. Our November educational event was “LinkedIn Marketing for Communicators” by Phil Nugent, who expertly covered how to get the maximum career benefit from LinkedIn. We also met at the Boulder Cork in August to wish BWA a happy birthday. BWA celebrated 25 successful years of serving professional writers and communicators with job leads, education, professional support, and networking opportunities.
To complement all our formal BWA events, BWA also started a Meetup group, which provides a variety of extra events and get togethers. Sign up for the free BWA Meetup group to learn about these additional professional education and networking events.

Currently at BWA…
- We’ve launched a low-cost membership option for college or high school students, and their teachers. Students get the opportunity to meet and work with publishing professionals, enhancing their career prospects and knowledge.
- We’re looking for volunteers to help with a variety of fun tasks. Help BWA while also gaining marketable new skills. Current volunteer needs include a Volunteer Chairperson, people with WordPress skills to help with a site overhaul, and other important activities.
For more information on career-building volunteer openings, e-mail email@example.com. Help out, gain a new skill. We’ll even provide the training.
